a quiet process

Month: October, 2012

This week: structures!

150 – vincent price

And thus concludes portrait week. Tomorrow – something else!

148 – rachel felix

Rachel Felix (Mademoiselle Rachel)

Diane Di Prima

146 – ray bradbury

For a long time, I would read Something Wicked This Way Comes every October.

145 – lady m

I’m production manager on a staged reading of Kill Shakespeare that’s going up here in Halifax this week, and tonight I got a chance to sit in on rehearsal! Inspired by that, today’s portrait is my take on Lady M herself.

So, here’s the deal – I’d like to try and hone in on things a little now that I’ve been doing this for a while. As you can probably tell from what I’ve posted, I’m fairly scattered and don’t really have a “style” that I regularly work in or feel comfortable in. But I’m trying to improve and be happier with the things I make, so I’d like to take a stab at weekly themes or goals. I’ll begin simply, but move over to more challenging themes as the weeks go on – I’d love to do a week of animation or a week of comics at some point!

To start: portraits. This one’s of Carrie Derick.
